Abstract

Waheed Ahmad is one of the significant Urdu novel writers. The theme, writing– style and structure of his novel زینو, are in complete accord with the map of contemporary fiction that enkindle the affinity of Waheed Ahmad in scenario of Urdu Novel. Putting aside the writing style and theme of this novel, the story has been written in the mirror of "Magical Realism". In fact, it is the "Magical Realism" that is called "Language of Colonial World", where the obscured facts of life are fore–seen in a mysterious way. The structure of Magical Realism comprises many elements. For instance, it includes the admixture of factual and imaginary world; writer describes his own judgment of time in story; plot of novel shows labyrinth; dreams in story overlay its outline; and the picture of fiction is produced with meticulous knowledge of God, Goddess and Djinn. Despite this, reader heads forward with mystery, because writer describes his life's impregnable facts in preternatural colors; the writer trusts his readers to the extent that he leaves intentionally few things ambiguous and expects his reader to have a word on it. All the aforementioned elements of Magical Realism have been sought in زینو and through reference from the text of the novel; these elements have been described in detail. Thus it can be concluded that the novel of Waheed Ahmad has been written in mode of Magical Realism.

Abstract

Urdu ghazals are read, heard, sung and written in most of the countries of the world, apart from the Indian subcontinent. The distinction of this genre is that it can best express the entire situation, from human life to death. Thousands of poets, from Wali Dikni to Mirza Dagh, have spent their lives and blood in its upbringing. After the partition of the subcontinent, interest in this genre still persists on both sides of the border. While great work has been done in the evolution of Urdu ghazals in India, hundreds of poets have contributed to the evolution of this genre in Pakistan and have successfully continued its evolutionary journey. This paper covers the role of Pakistani poets in the evolution of modern Urdu. The words and themes of these selected poets will help in understanding the evolutionary journey of Urdu ghazals. This paper is based on the selection and analysis of poets from Nasir Kazmi to Ahmad Abdullah from the post-partition period to the second decade of the 21st century.

Abstract

Urdu was official language that's why it was indispensable for themasses to learn it. All the institutions of the government were bound to practice Urdu in their respective offices. Slowly and gradually, that led Urdu to become public need. Urdu prose not only in Balochistan but also in India strengthened its roots. The official documents of Urdu introduced new style and played vital role in Urdu dictionary. Old official documents in Balochistan which are not direct part of Urdu literature or the judicial documents which have specific technical patterns of expatiating worked as raw material and assisted the fiction of Balochistan in forming tales, stories, characters and plots later. These documents have served and become helping hand in the prose of Balochistan literature

Abstract

While Ismat Chughtai is a big name in Urdu novels and fiction, she has also been a controversial figure. The reason for which is his many creations in which he has made sex and psychology the subject. In most of her short stories and novels, she comes across as a rebellious and brutal realist. On the one hand, he has raised his voice for the freedom and rights of women, on the other hand, he has also openly described the sexual immorality of women. There are many reasons behind this, but the main reason among them is the mental and sexual discomfort of Ismat Chughtai, which is the subject of this paper, so in this paper, the psychological analysis of Ismat Chughtai will be presented.

Abstract

It is the general apprehension that modern scientific knowledge cannot be described or narrated in Urdu language but the facts portray the different picture. Urdu language is able to express the variety of scientific and technical topics. A history of nearly two centuries is a witness to it. Urdu had been an effective medium of instruction through many decades. Jamia Usmania, Hyderabad, India, has a dignified contribution in this regard. Thomason Civil Engineering College, Roorkee was also an institution where Urdu language had been medium of instruction for native students from 1847 to 1870. Many native scholars were appointed to translate and compile the books regarding Civil Engineering. Lala Behari Lal was one of them. In this article, his involvement in the translating and compiling the books has been described and analyzed.

Abstract

Abul Fazal Siddiqui’s novel “Tarang” was published in 1989. Due to its unique theme and style, “Tarang” is a significant addition to the Urdu novel history. The effects caused by the use of narcotics with all of its minute details on human life are a part the story. It’s an essential novel for depicting the pure rural society. The economic reflection of the rural society is another theme of the novel, “Tarang”. The central idea of the novel is that how a middle-class family is financially devastated by getting addicted to drugs. One of the motifs of the novel is about the economy of the human beings. The social relations presented in “Tarang” are also of enormous significance. This novel revolves around rural society and the social life of Sikhs of the united Punjab which reflects the social and economic life of India by telling the story of Chauhangarh’s Thakur Shivraj Singh and his only son Thakur Harpal Singh.

Abstract

Bint-i-Dahir is latest and famous novel of Safdar Zaidi. Safdar Zaidi is a contemporary novel writer settled in Holand. Bint-i-Dahir is his 3rd novel that is a historical novel. The Locale of this novel is ancient Sindh. In this Novel writer present the history of Sindh with a different perspective. In this novel he depicted the occupation of Sindh by Muslisms (Arabs) was an imperial act. He denies the verifiable occurrence as per which Hajjaj container Yusuf assault in Sindh on the voice of a Bedouin lady who was caught by Sindhi privateers. As per the writer, the primary justification for going after Sindh was more monetary than religious. In the novel, Hajjaj receptacle Yusuf shows up as a horrible and harsh head ruler. Maharaja Dahar is portrayed as a bold, gallant, edified and generous ruler. Receptacle Qasim is a youthful armed force commandant who is a loving and delicate individual; he is by all accounts went against to low mistreatment of persecuted and vanquished countries. Raj kumari Surya is the primary character of the Novel. She is Rajkumari and the elder girl of MahaRaja Dahar, she is a courageous, instructed, Cognizant and bold woman. Abstract

Agha Gull painted the civilization and culture of Balochistan in his fiction.He wrote four novels.Bella regarding the layout of the second novel.Novel was the source of the world’s schlorship with the traditional science regarding the label.In the novel ,it was a new linguistic experience.The fact that this narrative statement describes the traditional romance story,but indeed reflects the economic,social and educational equality of the Balochistan.The reformative aspest of this novel is to shape the character of the young generation by taking them out of sentimentality and ambivalence.In order of eradicate ignorance they have to be trained by attracting them towards eduction.Through this novel,Agha Gul has highlighted the social and societal tragedies spread around in an intangible way.In this novel, the civilization and culture of Balochistan is also present in the features of a travelogue.The reader enjoys the travelogue while reading it.

Abstract

Literary research is much like a subsidiary of documentary research. For research in classical literature, one must go for researching many sources. Personal Diaries are considered a very important source in this regard. The ample use of this source can make it better and more authentic. Especially in research on classical literature, the role of these Personal Diaries can't be denied. This article clarifies how and how much these Personal Diaries can help a researcher. Where the researcher loses his way, this source shows him the light to the right path and so his journey continues. Although the authenticity of these Personal Diaries is not much in the absence of more authentic sources there is no other way to get rid of it .The Personal Diaries of the poets are a very important source of old literature, especially its importance can't be denied as far as the classical Urdu poetry is concerned.

Abstract

Hafeez Jalandhri's name needs no introduction in the field of Urdu literature. He is the poet of national anthem of Pakistan and shahnama Islam, also he is poet of kids. Hafeez Jalandhri wrote urdu prose as well. He is the writer of Urdu short stories and urdu columns but he is not so famous in the field of prose.Its only reason is his high quality poetry. Hafeez Jalandhri's short stories depict real life stories. His short stories reflect the economic deprivation and exploitation of the individuals of the subcontinent.
